Existing problem
A: Short meantime between failure due to erosion
B: Noise level to high
C: Cv value limitation, 2 choke sizes are need to cover flow requirements
Causes of problem
A: Contaminants and high delta P in fluid creating high erosion at valve seats
B: Given the high delta P and the environmental surrounding noise level is to high
C: Initial high delta p requires small Cv value. Well pressure drops relatively fast and
then a full bore valve is required to eliminate production losses
Solutions
A: Dux seats are given the design and material choice less sensitive to erosion
B: Equipped with the multi stage low noise trim the noise level is far beneath
maximum acceptable limit
C:In the Duxvalves a low noise trim can easily be replaced by a full bore trim to
minimize delta P
Results
All problems are solved and the client has installed at most of the problem cases the Duxvalves design, see below inspection pictures taken after 3 years in service.
